Last summer, mid pandemic, I decided to tackle the tough world of competition styling again, something which a decade ago I had loved and won at!
Calling on the services of renowned photographer John Rawson, who I had the pleasure of working with all those years ago, we enlisted the help of some models to help create a new collection. Several hours and a lot of work later, ‘Valentina – a collection by Rebecca Dickenson’ was borne.
Inspired by women that are ‘healthy and strong’ the Valentina collection was created to encapsulate the spirit and determination that women display; a strength that has been especially apparent during the pandemic.
Making it to the finals and winning HABIC was just one highlight- it’s certainly made an impact across the globe too.
I’ve been featured in magazines in Lithuania, Spain, Australia, America; made the cover of a couple and made the final of AIPP Awards as Best Commercial Finalist, had a full collection profile in Estetica Magazine and the front cover too!
Even with the concerns of repeated lockdowns and how they may affect my business I have been able to achieve so many great things.
Now, I am looking forward to welcoming back my wonderful clients and to begin to restart all those amazing plans that I had. It’s been an unwelcome temporary pause, but the story is far from over yet!
